| Covered vegetable dish in excellent condition: No chips, frits, cracks, hairlines or repairs. About 11" L x 9" W x 4-1/2" H. This pattern, sometimes called "inclined pines" after motifs in the background, with a trellis-diaper and spearhead border is usually termed "Nanking". It is the pattern given to Mrs. Samuel Powell by President and Mrs. Washington in 1797. Similar examples may be seen at Mount Vernon. A second example is available should you desire a pair.
