| A scholar’s object in Chinese Literati style, the brush washer is of unusual square form with a removable lid, painted with a frieze of archaistic Mythological creatures, presumably Dragons, and diapers. Each side of the brush washer measures approximately 7.5cm in diameter, and stands 6cm to its shoulder, and with cover it stands 8.2cm. No chips cracks or restoration, original crazing to the glaze, some wear to the gilding applied to shoulder ridge. There is a Kameyama seal to the underside of the cover. Dating late Edo period.
