A finely painted Kakiemon moulded long dish decorated with a continuous band of scrolling tako-karakusa with a Dragon and auspicious stylised cloud motifs inset within an undulating oval medallion. The interior of the dish is moulded to mirror the undulating border of the reserve and the edge of the dish has an iron brown fuchi beni glaze. The exterior of the dish has stylised karakusa motif incorporating an auspicious three petal flower, which also appears in the centre of the dish. A continuous thunder fret or liewen border to the footring. The dish measures approximately 23.2cm in length and is 14.7cm wide. It is in excellent condition apart from a small gilt repair to the rim. See EW 2584 for a set of five dishes in the same pattern but with square seal mark to the reverse. Shipping at Cost.
