A good example of a late 17th century Arita round bodied jug or wine ewer decorated with three lobed panels each with Peonies inset in a simplified Karakusa ground with additional scroll work to the shoulder and neck of the jug incorporating further floral motifs. The jug measures 21cm high and is approximately 10.5cm in diameter. It is in excellent condition with no cracks chips or restoration. See no 32 at page 54 of Japanese Porcelain by Oliver Impey for an identical jug, there dated circa 1680-1700. Reitlinger Gift 1978.758. Shipping at Cost
