A good Arita moulded rinka gata form scalloped rimmed dish in Ai Kakiemon style. The front is decorated with a band of twenty four jewelled cash, shippo, to the rim and further shippo in ones and twos incorporated into mounds of grasses, presumably sasa, bamboo grass, of differing height, again arranged in ones and twos to create a pleasingly symmetric arrangement framing a central gobenka. The reverse is decorated with an auspicious spiral Fuku, Good Luck mark, within a square form seal and a wide band of scrolling foliage. The symbolism of the dish would connote a wish for good luck, wealth and longevity. The dish dates to the late 17th or early 18th century, circa 1690-1710. The porcelain has a white body but with a bluish coloured glaze suffused with bubbles. The dish measures 19cm or 7.5 inches in diameter and is in good condition. It has no cracks chips or restoration. Shipping at Cost.
