A flared beaker form vase in Archaistic taste dating to the to the late Ming period. The upper register of the beaker has four cast blade form lappets with diaper decoration incorporating various geometric motifs. The mid-section contains a pair of raised Kui, mythical animals, set against a cast diaper ground divided by four vertical flanges. The base with a pair of stylised raised Taoitie masks set against a diaper ground divided by four vertical flanges. The vase measures 17.5cm high, the mouth measures 11.3cm in diameter, and the base 7cm in diameter. It weighs 591 gm. The vase is in good condition, there is a casting flaw to the bottom of the base rim, which is probably related to the casting gate, the point at which the bronze was poured into the mould. The solder to the metal base has been repaired with some sort of plastic material, as has been some tiny hole in the casting. Shipping at Cost.
