A large Hirado Dish in traditional Nabeshima mokouhai-gata form decorated in under-glaze blue with a porter and pack horse in the foreground and mount Fuji in the background. The horse tethered by its reins tied around the hocks of his front legs. The design is inspired by a print by Hokusai; a very similar composition of a tethered packhorse appears in his series of 100 views of Mount Fuji (1835). The dish measures 21cm (7 suns) in diameter and is 5.3cm high, and is in excellent condition no cracks chips or other damage. Additional images on request. Shipping at Cost.
