A late seventeenth century Arita plate decorated with a central motif of a Persimmons and a rocks. The cavetto decorated with six alternating panels showing stylised Peonies, and Rocks, bamboo and flowering Prunus. The patterns showing a striking similarity to that used for VOC orders produced at the Hikeoba and Sarugawa kilns. The dish has a plain undecorated reverse. The plate is in good condition with no cracks, chips or restoration and measures 22cm in diameter. Shipping at Cost
