An Arita soba choko or inoguchi, hog mouthed beaker, decorated in underglaze blue with a pattern of imbricated “wave pattern” roundels, seigaihamon marumon, set against a cross hatched ground, Kôsa-sen bun, framed by vertical pillar divisions with demi floret terminals. The base of the beaker decorated with a simplified stiff leaves and flowers border. The inner rim decorated with a diaper border and the interior with a gobenka motif within a double ring. The cup dates to the late mid Edo era circa 1760-80. The beaker measures 6.6cm in height and is 8.8cm in diameter, and is in good condition with no cracks, chips or restoration. Shipping at Cost.
