A very unusual large dish of conventional European metal form with a Kraak style fuyo-de pattern partially executed in underglaze blue the remainder painted in enamels. The central reserve decorated with hemp palms, shura, and cyclads, sotetsu, next to a body of water framed by a border of brocade lapets in enamels. The rim with reserves containing precious objects, and stylised auspicious five petal flowers, rather than the more usual Aster or Chrysanthemum flowers in Kraak style.
A very similar but smaller dish is illustrated in Volume IV of the Shibata Collection no 97 there dated circa 1690-1710.
The dish measures 24.8cm in diameter and stands 4cm high at the rim. It is in good condition with no cracks, chips or restoration. Shipping at Cost.
