A set of five late 17th Century Arita plates decorated with an auspicious Lotus arabesque in ring form partially obscured by the rim and contained within a pair of circumferential rings. The reverse decorated with a simplified lotus Arabesque. The porcelain is of quite a fine quality and the plates are supported by a set of three spurs arranged in a triangular form. The plates are in overall good condition with some minor kiln flaws, no cracks or restoration. One has a small chip to the foot-ring, two have tears in the paste visible from the reverse, one of which penetrates through the body of the porcelain to be visible from the front. They measure approximately 8 inches in diameter and stand approximately 1 inch in height to the rim. Additional images on request. Shipping within the UK is included in the sterling price. Worldwide shipping is included in the US $ price.
