Japanese Bronze Brush Holder Meiji Period
A signed Japanese bronze brush holder dating from the Meiji period, 1868-1912. This scholar's pot is about 4.75" (12cm) x 3" (7.5cm) and weighs more than 2 lbs. Foot rim is 3/8" wide. Lip is nearly 1/4" thick. With no dings or scratches, its condition is excellent, as is its patina. Arrow straight from the front, it leans purposely when seen from the side. Meiji bronze is often undervalued and perhaps underappreciated. This little pot is a gem of the first order. Larger high-resolution images on request. Insured shipping at cost.
