Superb Early 18th C. Arita Imari Teapot
Japanese Imari teapot in original condition, richly decorated in the Imari palette with flowers and foliage behind a rustic fence, decorated lappets to the shoulder and lid and highlighted with gilt overall. Probably made for a Private Trader during the Kyoho period (1716-1736) as suggested by the Aka-e kinrande lotus brocade. A small firing crack and related 1-1/2” (3.5cm) fine glaze line near the base (see our last photo). About 9” (22.5cm) from tip of spout to end of handle x 5.75” (14.5cm) high.
