Very rare Carl M. Cohr (1893-1937) bracelet made circa 1920-30's in Fredericia Denmark. Cohr was a contemporary of Georg Jensen, and a very well known maker of danish flatware, which is very collectible today. Pieces of his jewelry are rarely seen.
This unusual bracelet is comprised of fine leaves and berries on darkened wood - like an Arts & Crafts fumed oak, with silver links and clasp. The wood is likely mose eg or bog oak, an ancient tree taken from the peat bogs, preserved, hardened and darkly stained from the tannins in the bog. This is a favorite wood of sculptors and furniture makers in Denmark, also used by some silversmiths, usually for small boxes inlaid with silver.
Measures closed 7 3/8 x 3/4 inches. Marked with COHR's stamp of a "C", "M" and a reverse "C", then 830 for the silver content of the period (less than sterling). You can look, but good luck finding another...
