Be Sure to See Our Impressive Collection of Taxco, Danish, Arts and Crafts and Other Vintage Silver Jewelry! After her marriage to Antonio Castillo ended in 1948, Margot van Voorhies Carr left Los Castillo to go out on her own as Margot de Taxco. Here is a nice example of her very first design, #5100. It is in terrific vintage condition. This Arts and Crafts style set is SOLID silver with hand hammered, blackend design bordered by smooth, shiney bands in an intertwined design. The necklace has a wearable length of about 16 inches. The center medallion is about 5 inches wide x 1 5/8 deep. The sides and rear are 3/8 wide. Original hook clasp. Marked Sterling, Made in Mexico,Margot de Taxco, 5100, "old" style eagle # 16 assay mark. The matching bracelet has an oval shape and is about 1 5/8 inches in front tapering to 3/4 in rear. It has a wearable length of about 7 3/4 around of which 6 1/2 is silver with a 1 1/4 opening. It is about 2 1/2 x 2 inches inside. Appropriately marked. It can be closed tighter by a jeweler. |
