Old, large sterling and amethyst necklace collar by Matilde Poulat. Hand crafted in Taxco, circa 1960's, this classic Egyptian motif Matl collar is chock full of 36 pyramid faceted natural amethysts and turquoise accent cabachons. The 1 1/2 inch wide collar has a wearable length of 14 1/2 inches smallest top inner dimension and spreads wider at the bottom. Signed in multiple places - engraved MATL with the eagle 129 mark, engraved Patente 10569, and Matl Mexico 925 Salas. Made with her nephew Ricard Salas during the golden years of Taxco. Condition wise this has a very nice age patina, but is missing 2 small turquoise stones and one tiny bead. Easy to replace, or not. It also appears that one amethyst was removed on the link second from the clasp on the left.
