This is a very fine, Bulbous, tapering towards base, Circular form, Snuff Bottle, with a straight round neck, flat lips, and flat oval footing. Made of Black Jet. The bottle is well hollowed, decorated on both sides with stylized abstract forms in red enamel paint. We haven't seen another jet bottle decorated in this manner, anywhere. It has a smooth and lustrous surface. It comes with a light brown and black agate stopper with spoon.
JET is a form of lignite and a geological organic material composed of fossilized wood from millions of years ago, resulting from high carbon compression and salt water. The color is best described as uncompromised or absolute blackness, therefore its known as "Jet-Black". The bottle is in excellent preserved condition.
