This is one of those fantastic satsuma masterpieces where every mm of space is filled in by a wonderful design, known as "ten thousand cranes". Those tiny cranes were laid on with thick enamel that stand out in relief... easily seen in the larger detail. There are 4 larger golden cranes around. While sumptuous the colors are not overly gaudy. Gold trimmed rims to protect the porcelain. Meiji (1868-1912) era.
About 2"" diameter and 1.2"" height. No chips cracks or repairs. Enamel in fine condition. Overall very good condition.
This is a genuine little antique satsuma treasure. Great example of why it is so famous and sought after. Won't find another easily.
