Sold thank you.
A very useful Chinese export silver card case with a character on each side over stippled ground. One says "fortune" (or luck shown in 1st pic) and the other "longevity". The inside is lightly gold washed. There is a Chinese 2 character hallmark (hard to decipher maybe "Shing Tai") and also an english mark "S Co. Silver"". This was most likely made in the Shanghai or Hongkong regions between 1890-1920s.
2.2" x 3.2". Very good condition with no damage only some encrusted dirt. Hinges and snap all work well. Chinese export silver is generally solid silver with no plating. Purity can be anywhere from 66-95 percent. They polish very well and tarnish very slowly.
A wonderful Chinese export silver item with good age and usable everyday. Great gift or personal accessory to bring you luck for the new year!
