明清花关公. 15-16th century Ming dynasty Wanli emperor era (1573-1620)figure of a Chinese deity in blue and white, most likely Guang Gong, the martial god. He is wearing a Ming style robe and hat, with a long beard. The saphire blue is very successful, and the thick pooling of bluish glaze at the crevices are all characteristics of this period.
6 1/2 inches high. Alas there is some small finger damage, and one shoulder wing professionally restored. Damages not easily visible. Otherwise in good condition, there is glaze crackle normal to this type of porcelain. The glaze lines are NOT hairlines or cracks.
An outstanding Ming deity official figure and displays beautifully.
