This is a fine famille rose vase from the Early Republic of China era (about 1900-1930s). The figure with the big head is the god of longevity. And there are 50 different character representations for the word "longevity". Beautiful square blue seal mark of the most famous Ch'ien Lung Emperor within a double foot rim. Outstanding fine porcelain translucent in the light. The detail is so fine that you can see the individual hair in the beard. This vase is an excellent example from the Early Republic era, with classic form and very old fashioned Chinese theme, made almost 100 years ago when the old craftsmen tradition still lived and old materials were available.
11 1/2 inches high. No chips hairlines or cracks. No repairs. Slight wear to the gold. A rare & exceptional vase probably commissioned to celebrate someone's 60th birthday as they used to do. Unique.
