Here's the last of the five points we have on consignment from the Rhonda Beck collection (RXB16). Although an attached tag has the notation "Cobb's" (and the inked words "Pope Co ILL" on the side of the blade itself), I believe this is an un-notched pre-form of the Tennessee River type due to the absence of the Cobb's characteristically beveled edges. The Tennessee River is an Early Archaic point dating c.7000-4000BC...

Acquired by Lorenzo Fritz from a private US collection decades ago, the beads in this necklace area almost certainly Moche in age dating c.100-800 AD. Though there's no way of telling whether the assembly produced by Orlandini e...

Measuring 3 ½” in diameter, this superb matched pair of Precolumbian gold earring bangles (95.332HD) is attributed to the early San Agustin horizon of the El Bolo River area of Colombia and date c.100BC-400AD. Made from hammered 20K sheet gold and repoussee designed with a rayed sun image, the slightly flexible pieces are in excellent condition. These almost certainly were worn by a wealthy cacique and were a symbol of his power and importance. Some scattered patches of mud still cling to the...

Possibly an ornament for a crown, headband, or some other article of clothing, this 5 ¾” long, decorated copper flexible strip (AK138) is attributed to the Chimu horizon of Peru, c.1000-1400AD. Heavily patinated and coated with mineral salts, but in overall fairly good condition, the top of the strip has spiral decorations and a movable concave disk or bead, some ½ of which has corroded away. A bit of weathered textile fragment appears to have been attached to the strip at one time, but is n...

After looking at this brown chert beauty (RXB.9), you may have already guessed that it indeed is another from the Rhonda Beck collection! Typed as a Dalton-Hemphill dating into the Early Archaic period, c.8000-7200BC, it measures 5 5/8" in length and is virtually flawless with an old, lightly inked notation on one side that reads "Hardin Co, ILL". Our fourth listed point from that collection (with one more to go), it comes with a certificate of authenticity by Calvin Howard, well known in the fi...
