$450.00
3 ¾” tall and marked on its outer surface in black ink with the words ‘Cuautitlan, Mex 6/8/60 Aztec’, this well-preserved Aztec clay mold (AXH1453R1N1) is from the Dr. Allen Heflin collection and dates c.1300-1500AD. The mold produces the image of a standing male figure wearing ear spools and a funky headdress, and holding an indistinguishable object in his hands at his waistline...

Here's the last of the five points we have on consignment from the Rhonda Beck collection (RXB16). Although an attached tag has the notation "Cobb's" (and the inked words "Pope Co ILL" on the side of the blade itself), I believe this is an un-notched pre-form of the Tennessee River type due to the absence of the Cobb's characteristically beveled edges. The Tennessee River is an Early Archaic point dating c.7000-4000BC...

This group of twelve figurines and whistles (RDM 89, 92-95, 97, 98, 100, and 102-104) are all from the Barney Mallonee collection. Individually photographed and priced, most of the items appear to be from Ecuador. Included in the diverse grouping are owls, dog, parrots, jaguar, and a coatamundi. The Guangala and La Tolita horizons are represented, and there are a few of unknown provenance that are believed to be from Ecuador also...

This 1 1/6” tall ancient Egyptian faience amulet (BWO2) is the human-headed bird or owl, an image representing the soul. In excellent condition, wearable, and very rare (according to Petrie), the amulet dates to the 26th Dynasty, c.664-525BC. It comes with our certificate guaranteeing authenticity...

$1,350.00
This incredibly well preserved set of Pre-Columbian wood ear plugs (LFG442), on which the geometrically decorated shell and dark greenstone elements are each held in place with an almost invisible touch of contemporary glue, is attributed to the Moche horizon of Peru, c.100-800AD. Not wearable today due to the fragile nature of the wood that has dried and shrunk through the many centuries of entombment, there are certainly few other such pairs that have survived this well...
All Items : Antiques : Regional Art : Americas : Pre Columbian : Sculpture : Pre AD 1000 item #68097 (stock #95.225HD)
HD ENTERPRISES, INC.
$6,500.00
This spectacular large eagle pendant (95.225 HD) is attributed to the Veraguas horizon in Panama. The 100+ gram lost wax casting dates c.500-1100AD. The eagle (most likely worn by a powerful chieftain or shaman) measures an impressive 5 ¾” from wing tip to tip. The gold has been analyzed and tests approximately 14k. As was done to much of the Precolumbian alloyed gold, this piece was enriched at the surface in ancient days by the ‘depletion gilding technique’...

This approximately 15” x 26” rectangular textile fragment (FP1366B) is attributed to the Chancay horizon of Peru dating c.1100-1400AD. In fair to very good condition, depending upon which part of the fabric you’re viewing, the eight bordered panels making up the fragment are each centered with a fan-tailed bird that may represent a pelican, or some other shore bird. The textile is sewn onto brown paper backing...

The twelve ceramic pieces illustrated in this group of twelve (RDM 6, 10-13, 15-19, 29 and 46) are among the best from the old Barney Mallonee collection. Mostly Bolivian in origin and related to the Tiwanaku horizon, Barney brought these pots into the U.S. shortly before the end of WW I...

The third great point (RXB.1) from the Rhonda Beck collection, this is a 4 1/2" long x 1 1/8" wide Agate Basin point in top condition. Dating into the Transitional Paleo to the Early Archaic Period, c.10,500-8000 B.P., it comes without specific provenance, but the stone type has been identified as High Ridge Burlington Chert by well known authenticator Calvin Howard...

$25,000.00
Weighing a massive 73.4 grams, this 1 11/16” tall Precolumbian 22K gold bell (100.81HD) is attributed to the Veraguas horizon of Panama, c.500-1200AD. Still retaining its original loose clapper, the toucan-topped bell renders a pleasing though non-resonating tinkling sound. The twin birds represent a theme of dualism frequently noted in Precolumbian art...

HD ENTERPRISES, INC.
$1,500.00
This highly burnished red ware melon jar (CLP 1) is one of my favorite items from Claudia Proto's collection of West Mexican Pre-Columbian art. 8" wide and 6 1/4" tall, it simply bubbles with fun and style in spite of the its obviously damaged condition ( in our opinion, it still deserves a quality rank of '7', with 10 being the tops). Assigned to the Colima horizon dating c,100-300AD, it suffers a bruised nose and a rim that is missing a couple of chunks with some glue to hold another in place...

Each of the pictured and individually priced prehistoric Indian artifacts in this group (JEP 18, 35, 36, 39, 71, 76, 85, 86 and 88) were once attached to a large relics frame from the Walt Lewin collection (frame shown last on bottom row of thumbnail photos). Walt was an old Casper, Wyoming friend with whom I hunted historical relics in the early ‘60s and '70s. He was also an avid hunter of Wyoming jade and Indian artifacts but unfortunately did not keep track of where the artifacts were found...

The late Lynn Langdon’s collection continues with this group of twelve (LLL1205B, E, I, T, U, V, AB, AC, AK, AM, AN and AQ), each individually photographed and priced small stone pendants or beads. Each photo illustrates a different, but sometimes similar artifact that was used as a jewelry item, probably with amuletic intent. Collected durimg the mid-20th century in West Mexico, all of the pieces (mostly anthropomorphic) are attributed to the Pre-Classic Colima horizon dating c.300BC-200AD. E...

This group of twelve individually priced prehistoric Indian pots (JHL6, 7, 17, 18, 19, 30, 41, 42, 48, 49, 52 and 65) are all from the estate of the late Gene Lang of Denver. Believed to be from the Williams Ranch collection, south of Quemado, New Mexico, Lang purchased the pots to restore them but was not able to complete the job. Most have been simply glued together with little restoration, and are usually missing a few shards. Each photo is noted first with the Inventory Number of the item in...
