Now each priced at $125.00 (reduced from $250.00), the five 24” prehistoric Native American shell bead necklaces in this group of five (JBB1 through JBB5) were hand selected and assembled from a hoard of shell disk beads found together on private lands in La Plata Canyon, New Mexico in the later 1900s. In excellent condition and fitted with hook and eye clasp, the beads on each strand range in diameter from about 4 to 6mm...
From the collection of the late Lynn Langdon who found this figurine (LLL125) in west Mexico in the mid-20th century, this figure is attributed to the Colima period, c.500BC-200AD. The slightly bow-legged image has been glued together and represents a powerful male wearing necklace, armbands, a head sash, and a kilt-like loin covering. The figure, which will not stand on its own, can be easily displayed in an upright position with a simple wire stand...
This style of ‘antenna handled’ ancient bronze sword (100.166BHD) is found in the lower Ganges Valley of India. Assigned to the Uttar Pradesh period, dating c.1800-1000BC, the 16” long sword is in overall very good condition with excellent patina, minor metal loss, and a small, leaf like area along one blade edge that has partially loosened but is still attached (care should be taken not to apply pressure to the area as it wouldn’t take too much to break off the piece)...
The twelve smaller stone penates in this group (THE.F51.5, 21, 24, 26, 30-32, 35. 38, 44, 47 and 48) were collected by the late Chester Howard in the area of Mitla in the mid-20th century. All are assigned to the Mixtec group and dated c.1100-1500AD and were hand carved from a relatively soft stone believed to be anhydrite. The suspension hole on each of the penates has worn through. Ranging in condition from fairly good to excellent, they all could easily be adapted for contemporary wear...

The individually photographed and priced items consist mostly of rare ceramic keros, along with a fine polished greenstone celt, and a few copper items from the Tiahuanacan horizon of Bolivia. Additionally, there’s an unusual intricately woven belt believed to be from the Chimu horizon of neighboring Peru...
The two yellow ware ollas in this lot (LLL563) were found in west Mexico in the mid-20th century by the late Lynn Langdon, and attributed to the Pre-Classic Colima horizon dating c.300BC-300AD.
