My best guess is that this group of Pre-Columbian artifacts (LLL1026) was probably once assembled to represent a model temple. Found together at one site in the deep shaft tomb area of West Mexico in the mid-20th century by the late Lynn Langdon, most of the stone items, made of greenish-gray argillite, along with the carved mother of pearl shell strips, have remnants of what appears to be some sort of binding adhesive that held the entire group together...

A little coarse and somewhat pitted, this ancient Egyptian bowl (102.70GHD) was long on display at the now closed Collector’s Memorial Museum in Farmington, New Mexico. Just a bit over 5 ½” in diameter, the bowl is in overall very good condition with only a 1 1/8” chipped area on the inside of the rim to detract from its simple, graceful form. Brought into the country in the mid 1930s by a merchant mariner, it was part of a small collection dated by a contract archeologist into the XXV-XX...

This colorful polychrome hand-modeled solid clay figurine (MAB.188) depicts a seated mother holding an infant in her lap. Measuring 6 3/8" in height, her right arm has been glued, the infant's elongated cap is missing, and a flat plait of hanging hair on the mother's back appears to be gone (based on the irregular lower edge at the base of her hair). Dating c.200BC-100AD in the Pre-Classic period, it is attributed to the Jalisco group of West Mexico and is graded at a 7-8. Even with the almost u...
