Unmistakably of the Sinu style, this matched pair of heavy gold earrings (103.42HD) is from the Gulf of Uruba area of Colombia and dates c.400-1600AD. Just over 2 ¾” in width and made in Precolumbian times using the cire perdue technique (lost wax casting), the earrings are in overall very good condition (one of them has been slightly bent at a corner and a few of the gold rings are cracked, but without any significant weakening of the piece)...
