This is the third (RDM.X3) ‘cleaned’ up page of four (RDM.X1, RDM.X2, RDM.X3 and RDM.X4) from the Barney Mallonee Pre-Columbian collection, with twelve additional singly priced items (RDM 8, 12, 19, 34, 40, 55, 57, 93, 94, 97, 103 and 107). This group includes: standing owl figurine; burnished black-ware florero; polychrome jar with a lizard handle; red-ware gourd jar; small dog with bone (?) in its mouth; nice jar with owl head top; large decorated copper disk; growling dog; cute zoomorphic figure; and other. Ranging in price from $60.00 to $275.00, this group is well worth examining and contains items and prices that should fit all budgets and collecting interests, all at reduced prices. This ‘legal’ collection was brought out of South America just before the end of WW I when Barney come back to the States after years of gold mining in South America. Passed on from generation to generation in the Mallonee family, Rudy (the grandson of old gold-mining Barney) has consigned the collection to HD Enterprises as part of a diverse group of mostly Pre-Columbian ceramic pottery usually related to the mysterious Tiahuanacan horizon of Bolivia. This third group contains pieces ranging in price from $60 to $275, and grades ranging from 3 to 8 on a 10 point scale with 10 being perfect. Most of this group grades in the range of 6 to 8. Note that none of the items in this collection have been cleaned or otherwise preserved and all still bear the marks of retrieval from digging (i.e., mud-stained and caliche-coated surfaces, chips, dings, some paint loss, abrasions, etc.). However, the surfaces can be enhanced with a short soak and light scrub in water, and can be further enhanced with other easy to apply techniques. Because of the lack of cleaning, the pieces of these rarely seen types are being offered at reduced prices. Each photo lists first the item inventory number in brackets, a brief description of the item followed by the author’s opinion of the item’s grade, the size, approximate date range, condition, and finally the price. A purchase comes with a small display card, a biographical sketch about Barney Mallonee, and our certificate guaranteeing authenticity to the original buyer. Select or ask any question by referring either to the Trocadero ITEM # or the STOCK # (RDM.X3) at the top of this page, and ALSO to the item’s INVENTORY NUMBER as shown in the brackets on its photo. NOTE: if you would like to view a large number of our various listings, and at the same time limit your browsing, try our ‘TWELVE different items on a single page format’ by simply spelling out the word TWELVE in the search box. That will quickly bring up all of our listings that have twelve different items on a page, each individually priced! And if you want to further refine the group, add one or two additional modifiers at the same time such as ‘Indian, Precolumbian, Stone, Pot, Gold, etc.’ Any item that has been sold will be so noted on its photograph.
