Archaic Colima Male Figurine, West Mexico
From the collection of the late Lynn Langdon who found this figurine (LLL125) in west Mexico in the mid-20th century, this figure is attributed to the Colima period, c.500BC-200AD. The slightly bow-legged image has been glued together and represents a powerful male wearing necklace, armbands, a head sash, and a kilt-like loin covering. The figure, which will not stand on its own, can be easily displayed in an upright position with a simple wire stand. This piece comes with a small display card, a biographical sketch about Langdon, a map of west Mexico with the Colima area highlighted, and a certificate guaranteeing authenticity.
