Necklace Of Ancient Egyptian Beads: Ex Mitry
This 16 choker necklace (104.11BHD) is made up of ancient Egyptian beads dating from the XXV Dynasty to the Greco-Roman Period, c.713BC-395AD. From the well-known Phillip Mitry collection, the beads include glass, stone, and faience. A fine glass eye bead is included in the group. Mitry was a registered antiquities dealer with a shop in downtown Cairo called the Anglo-American Bookstore and Antiquities Shop. He left Egypt in the 1950s bringing his collection to the US where HD Enterprises purchased it in 1996. The wearable necklace comes with a small display card, a biographical sketch about Mitry and his collection, a copy of one of his advertising brochures, and a certificate guaranteeing authenticity.
