|All of the items in this group of twelve individually priced ancient Egyptian artifacts (96.598HD, 96.601-603HD, 96.679HD, 96.692HD, 96.744HD, 96.844HD, 96.886HD, 96.887HD, 96.935HD, and 96.980HD) are from the Philip Mitry collection. Dating from the 12th to the 30th Dynasties, this selection includes scarabs, burron scarab, cowroid and a plaque. Most of the pieces have hieroglyphic symbols. Materials include faience and steatite. Conditions range from 7-10 and prices range from $400-$450. Mitry was a registered antiquities dealer who owned a shop in Cairo. In the early ‘50s he sold his store, then known as the Anglo-American Bookstore and Antiquities Shop, and moved to the US. HD Enterprises purchased the Mitry collection in 1996 and have sold pieces to museums, jewelry designers, and collectors all over the world. Of particular interest in this group are the cartouches of Tutmosis III and Shoshenq IV, along with glyphs of the lotus, lower crown, nefer, ankh, the god Ptah, Eye of Horus...and more. If you are looking for a quantity of authentic ancient scarabs, we will soon have all of the remaining Mitry collection in this catalog, so check back often. Each photo shows the top and bottom, or front and back, and is noted with Inventory Number of the item in brackets, followed by a description of the material and the type of amulet, a grade notation in brackets, the age of the artifact, note about any glyphs, a comment about condition, and finally the price. Note that the ruler shown in the photo is in millimeters. Select or ask any question by referring first to the Trocadero Item Number on this page, and then our Inventory Number shown on the given photograph. Any that have been sold will be so-marked on the appropriate photo. A purchase comes with a small display card, information about Mitry and his shop, and a certificate guaranteeing authenticity.
