THE LAST THREE ITEMS FROM THE PBF CONSIGNMENT (PBF201, PBF204 & PBF212), IF PURCHASED INDIVIDUALLY AT THEIR LISTED PRICES, WOULD TOTAL $1660. WHEN FIRST LISTED, THE TOTAL FOR THE THREE WAS $2550!! NOW, IF THEY ARE PURCHASED AS A GROUP, THE PRICE IS ONLY $895.00. This necklace (PBF212) is made up of tiny Pre-Columbian shell, ceramic and bone beads enhanced with 23 modern gold-plated beads to add color to the wearable collection. The ancient non-metallic beads were found in the area of Yumbo, an old town in the middle Cauca Valley of western Colombia. Generally related to the late Calima Period, c.1200-1500AD, the beads have been assembled into a balanced and decorative, easy-to-wear, 23” long necklace that is centered with a 7mm orange spondylus shell pendant carved in a shape reminiscent of the popular seated Quimbaya ‘Retablo’ figures found somewhat further to the east. This simple but attractive necklace comes with a descriptive card for display, a map of Colombia high-lighting the Calima area in which the Yumbos lived, and our certificate guaranteeing authenticity. Select or ask any question by referring either to the Trocadero Item Number at the top of this page, or to the Inventory Number shown in parentheses in the first sentence of this write-up. NOTE: if you would like to view a large number of our various listings, and at the same time limit your browsing time, try our ‘TWELVE different items on a single page format’ by simply spelling out the word TWELVE in the search box. That will quickly bring up all of our listings that have twelve different items on a page, each individually priced! And if you want to further refine the group, add one or two additional modifiers at the same time such as ‘Indian, Precolumbian, Stone, Pot, Gold, etc.’ Any item that has been sold will be so noted on its photograph.
