Twelve Relic Groups, Old West Sites: Group A
This group of twelve (30.86B & CHJ; 337.86HJ; 137, 139, 141 & 160.88HJ; 2.90HJ; 291.87MA; FP859 & 925; and SHJ38) is composed of finds made at early western railroad towns, mining camps, forts, etc. A modest but interesting assortment of tokens, buttons, pipes and doll parts that were found by yours truly and Fenton Parke of Casper who is the only remaining survivor of a small group of early ‘archaeological salvagers’ (as Fenton and the then well-known Ernie Maire liked to call themselves) who roamed the trails and byways of the western states right after WW II with metal detector, shovel, trowel and screen in hand displaying as much passion in their search for western ‘treasures’ as the avid fisherman does in his quest for the ‘one that got away’. Most of you won’t know the names of many of these vanished sites (Percy, Bridger Station, Old Rouse, Weston, Kelton, Ft. Conrad, and Carbon), but a few names are still recognizable by many today (Fort Steele and Salt Creek). Each item or group of items comes with a small display card and our guarantee of authenticity. Select or ask any question by referring either to the Trocadero ITEM # or the STOCK # (GT.A) at the top of this page, and ALSO to the item’s INVENTORY NUMBER as shown in the brackets on its photo. NOTE: if you would like to view a large number of our various listings, and at the same time limit your browsing, try our ‘TWELVE different items on a single page format’ by simply spelling out the word TWELVE in the search box. That will quickly bring up all of our listings that have twelve different items on a page, each individually priced! And if you want to further refine the group, add one or two additional modifiers at the same time such as ‘Indian, Precolumbian, Stone, Pot, Gold, etc.’ Any item that has been sold will be so noted on its photograph.
