Incredible late Classic Saltillo sarape. From San Miguel de Allende or Saltillo. Circa 1860s-1870s. All natural dyes with cochinil red and indigo. Hand loomed in two panels. The early pieces like this one were always made in two panels because their looms were very small. Good antique condition with a few holes that were roughly stitched, some stitching in the center, some damage on top and bottom borders (also stitched)...

Incredible early Mexican sarape from Oaxaca. Circa 1900s. Classic design with turquoise background with red stripes and gorgeous central diamond "Ojo de Dios" (God's Eye) with four flowers. Very good vintage condition with a few strings from the fringe missing. Very similar to one pictured on page 213 of the book: "Popular Arts of Mexico" by Donna McMenamim. Measurements: 38" by 88"
