VICTORIA TAXCO COPPER AND SILVER TEA SET WITH CUPS
A rare and wonderful tea set by Ana Nunez de Brillanti. Made of copper with sterling silver overlay figures and engraved with rural scenes from Mexico including the Santa Prisca church from Taxco. All the Victoria pieces have a thick silver coating inside so they can be used without concern. Each cup features a different design: Matador with bull, hombre with sombrero carrying water, burro (donkey), and hombre with sombrero carrying baskets. The set includes the tea pot, sugar bowl, creamer and four cups. It is really rare to find a set like this with cups. The Tea pot silver figures are a man in sombrero and a woman dancing and on the other side a burro (donkey) and a man with a serape and a guitar. Sugar and creamer depict a man with sombrero carrying water. Each piece is signed with the early mark "Victoria Taxco Mexico" and with inventory number 267. Very good vintage condition. The tea pot measures 8" by 4-3/4" wide (without handle). Creamer is 3" by 2-3/4" and sugar is 4" by 3" (without handles). Each cup meaures 2-1/8" high by 3" wide (without handle).
