|A rare and wonderful sangria set by Ana Nunez de Brillanti. The set includes a huge 15 1/2" round tray and eight tall tumblers. Made of copper with sterling silver overlay figures and engraved with rural scenes from Mexico including the Santa Prisca church from Taxco. All the Victoria pieces have a thick silver layer inside so they can be used without concern. Each cup features a different design: brave bull, hombre in sombrero carrying water, burro (donkey), hombre in sombrero carrying baskets, hombre in sombrero gathering aguamiel from maguey, cock fighting, sombrero and sarape, hombre carrying goods on his back, sleeping man with sombrero and sarape. It is really rare to find a set like this complete. Each piece is signed with the early mark "Victoria Taxco Mexico" and with inventory number 267. Very good vintage condition. All the pieces have the original protective lacquer that they used to apply in Victoria's shop to avoid the darkening of the copper. A few rust spots on the tray. One of the tumblers has a flatten area on one side. The tray is 15 1/2" wide and each tumbler is 5 1/4" with a diameter of 2 3/4".|
