EARLY MEXICAN RED SALTILLO SERAPE POST CLASSIC
Amazing 1890s red Saltillo sarape. Classic design with an incredible "Ojo de Dios" (God's Eye) center diamond. Hand loomed in two pieces. The early pieces like this one were always made in two pieces because their looms were very small. Very good antique condition it has tears on 3 of the 4 corners, two of them very little. No fringe. DIMENSIONS: 48" by 86" - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - AS WITH ALL ANTIQUE WOOL TEXTILES, OLD ZARAPES ARE NEVER "PERFECT". YOU CAN ALWAYS EXPECT MINOR MOTH DAMAGE OR FADING OR FRINGE WEAR OR BLEEDING OR AREAS OF THINNING OR SOMETHING. WE ALWAYS TRY TO DESCRIBE ANY MAJOR DAMAGE.
