Breathtaking green burnished charger with exotic bird and flowers design. This feathered designs were only made for a short period of time in the 1930s and 40s. Also known as "earthenware of water", this burnished ceramic ware is the most famous, not only for its decorations and splendid burnish, attained by rubbing the surface with a piece of pyrite, but also for the flavor, fragrance and freshness of the liquids contained. For this reason this pieces were locally known as "barro de olor" (scented clay). Very good vintage condition. 21 inches wide. |
