| A very well-rendered watercolor painting of three polo players in action. This was a design for an full-page advertisement for the 'Polo' cigarettes, a European brand which is still made today. If you look closely, you can barely see the light pencil lettering that reads "Polo Cigarettes" in the background. With the painting came the instructions "cover design" and the artist's name and address. This dates to the 1930-40 era. The painting is in an earlier, 19th century walnut veneered pine frame that measures 19.5 X 16.5 inches. Lots of action here and a great piece for a fan of the sport! | ||
