| Lots of action in this oil painting from England, or maybe a better word is 'chaos'! This is an oil painted on paper that was affixed to a wood panel. It dates to the mid 1800's and is signed by Alken. We don't believe this is an original Alken painting, but probably done by one of his followers. There is a provenance attached verso. It is in its original inscribed, gilt, slip frame which measures 12.75 X 8.5 inches. The board was broken into 2 pieces at some point and has been repaired, but you can see the obvious break point in the photos. | ||
