Pair of Terrier Dog Prints in Folk Art Frames, 1900
This is such a charming, humorous pair of dog prints, depicting a terrier (Cairn?) who is at first, sick in bed. Until someone mentions "rats" and he comes to life! So typical of a true terrier! These are signed by the famous American artist Abbot Henderson Thayer (1849-1921) and appear to come from a book, as there are numbers in the corner. The first one is labeled "A very sick dog" and the second one says "Who said rats?". They are housed in a antique matched pair of inlaid folk art frames that measure 12.75 X 9 inches. Original price was $450.
