This mask was painted but the polychrome was erased over time, it now shows an eroded and dusty patina of wood. The mythic primordial couple in Nuo culture , minorities of South China, the man name is Shenggong and his wife is Shengmu. Age is at least from 19th , Shenggong is 30 cm H and has stone eyes, it is a little damage in the back. Shengmu is 34 cm h , the bird beak on her front is damaged , note that the face has been cleaned , that occured oftenly in Chinese nuo statuary. More information and pictures on request
