Tibetan shamanic horn whose local name is Nag Ru or sometimes also Thun-rva. This horn can contain either incense or essentially vegetable matter with medicinal properties. Presence of sculptures of some auspicious symbols, chorten, turtle, dorgi, mandala. The tapered part represents a Makara mouth which has an orifice to project the contents during rituals. Very good condition, good age at least mid-20th. H 16 cm, max diameter 4.5 cm

The top shows 3 faces of ancestors with a strong relief of sculpture. The central part a thick dorgi with a superb patina of use surrounded by patterns of basketry. This type of phurba shows tall, single or twin riders. They all seem to originate from Langtang District and are attributed to the Tamang people. The iconography of the Hayagriva horse is often found in Buddhist iconography. Very old Buddhist phurbu showing an important patina of wear. The summit shows three faces of deities, the central part is a miniaturized and remarkably carved square dorgi. The triangular tip is capped by an imposing mouth of Makara polished by a long use. On two sides one can see a snake escaping from Makara's mouth, but unlike shamanic phurbus, the snake's head is directed towards the tip of the phurbu.
