| This wood handle called “ GHURRA” are used to guide the churning-rod for churning milk into butter and are real pieces of art probably because milk is considered as sacred medium and primordial for life. The sculptural motifs and the designs reflect the infinity of creativity and mystical experience of the artists who have carved these Ghurra in remote villages with very archaic tools. This one shows a very unusual design with a great striking symmetry that remind the shape of the dorge Light brown patina, with geometrical carving, obvious sign of use , age can be around 30 to 40 years. Height 9 1/2 inches (24 cm), the piece is nicely mounted on on iron stand. | ||
