This is a 20th century carving of a thin, leggy man from Indonesia – probably to honor an ancestor.. It is carved in a seated position with its right arm holding onto the left arm. The carving measures 14 ¼” high by 4” wide by 3 ½” deep. There is a stable deep crack down one side – probably from drying out of the green wood at the time it was carved. It does have excellent patina and is otherwise in good condition. We date it to the mid 20th century, circa 1950s-1970s...
