This is an unusual small sake pourer in that it has two holes in the sides for hanging the piece from a cord. We have never seen this feature in other sake pourers. The bottle has a nice simple design of budding flowers on long vines - the design done in underglaze brown iron.

The bottle measures 6" high and is 2" diameter. It is in excellent condition with no chips or restorations. We date it to the Taisho to early Showa period, circa 1920s - 1950. It is possible that it could even date to the late Meiji period, circa 1900-1915. There is a signature on the side - not translated.
