Japanese studio pottery double gourd wall pocket – Hirado blue flowers on a tannish brown glazed ground. Even though the flowers are in the classic Hirado blue color, we think this piece is more likely a studio potters work from the early to mid Showa period, circa 1930-1950. Measures 7 ½” high and is 3 1/8” wide at the bottom part of the gourd – 2 7/8” wide at the upper part of the gourd and the foot is 2 ¼” diameter. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restorations.
