An Imari double gourd sake pourer - ribbed - decorated in classic simplicity with small flowers at both ends of the gourd. Unquestionably it was hand made - not machine made. The bottle leans slightly off center and the top rim is not completely straight across. Even the red lines at top and bottom are drawn quite casually.

The piece is 5" tall, top diameter is 3/4", top section is 1 3/4" diameter, bottom section is 2 1/2" diameter. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restorations - there is one kiln flaw brown spot near the base on one side. We date it to the late Meiji to early Taisho period, circa 1900-1920s.
