This is one of the last suiseki from our collection that will be posted on our site - only two more left. It is a Suiseki from the Ishite River located in the Ehime Prefecture Matsuyama City. This type of stone is classified as a Yagata-ishi - a stone which is reminiscent of a solitary house atop a hill at the side of cliff in the countryside. It comes complete with a custom carved wooden stand - the daiza. The set is in excellent condition. The horizontal stripes on different shades of tan to dark brown add to its interest. The stone by itself measures 3.5" wide (8.0 cm) by 2.16" ( 5.5 cm) high by 1.14"(2.0 cm) thick. The daiza is 3.54"(9cm) long by 1.5"(3.8 cm) wide by .47"(1.2cm) deep. The total weight of the stone when mounted in the daiza is 5.64 oz by 160 gm.
