| A nice Japanese red lacquer hot water pot - decorated in a bright red China red ground lacquer with a gold makie design of a pine tree encircling the bottle and the lid. Measures 4" high by 3 1/2" diameter.Generally good condition with one small area where the gold makie tree trunk meets the top at the rim. There is a gold mark on the base - not translated. We conservatively date this piece to the Taisho-early Showa period 1915-1930; however, it could be much earlier. | ||||||||||
