A Japanese porcelain blue and white plate with a lovely decoration of a large five petaled flower surrounded with leaves - executed in low relief. We believe this to be a late example of Hirado porcelain - however, the raised foot has the very distinctive combed foot design associated with the Nabeshima pottery. The plate measures 9 7/8" diameter by 3/4" high. Excellent condition - one stable hairline at the rim. We date it sometime between the late Meiji to early Showa period, circa 1920-1940.
