Description:

A nice crackled finish porcellaneous jarlet with an underglaze blue and white water plants and leaping fish against a tannish grey ground. Measures 2 high by 2 diameter. There are quite a few chips and missing areas to the top glaze yet the intrinsic strength of the jarlet still shines through. Dates to the 15th 16th century. There is an old museum or collectors mark on the base. It probably originates in the Swatow, South China.
